About PTY/ABN Calculator.

PTY/ABN Calculator is a simple Australian calculator built to help workers and small businesses compare TFN income with a rough equivalent PTY/ABN rate.

What it does

It lets you enter ordinary hours, overtime, allowances, casual loading, super, leave assumptions and selected business overheads. It then shows an estimated TFN income position and an equivalent PTY/ABN invoice rate.

What it does not do

It does not decide employment status, calculate an exact tax return, replace payroll software, or provide personal financial, tax, legal or employment advice. Awards, enterprise agreements, individual contracts and tax circumstances can all change the correct result.

Why it exists

Hourly rates are easy to compare badly. A contractor rate may need to cover costs that are separate from an employee's wage. The goal is to make those components visible so users can ask better questions before agreeing to a rate.
